A WORD FROM OUR LORD
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

U.S And Iran Return To Talks As Tensions Remain High
The United States has announced a new round of talks with Iran as both sides attempt to ease rising tensions, though the situation remains highly uncertain.
American officials confirmed they will send a delegation to resume negotiations, with discussions expected to focus on Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions, and broader regional security. The talks are reportedly set to take place in Pakistan as part of renewed diplomatic efforts.
However, progress is far from guaranteed. Iran has shown hesitation and has at times pushed back on participating, accusing the U.S. of making excessive demands and failing to uphold previous agreements.
At the same time, tensions on the ground remain high. Ongoing disputes over the Strait of Hormuz, along with continued military pressure and threats from both sides, are complicating any path forward.
The talks signal an effort to de escalate a fragile situation, but deep disagreements mean a meaningful breakthrough is still uncertain.

CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE
Tensions like this can stir fear and uncertainty, but Scripture reminds us that none of it is outside of God’s awareness. He sees every detail and understands the weight it places on people, the anxiety, the questions, and the unknown.
God is not distant from these moments. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Even when the situation feels unstable, believers are reminded that fear is not from Him, and that He remains present, aware, and in control.
U.S NEWS
Mass Shooting In Shreveport, Louisiana Has Left Eight Children Dead.
The attack happened on April 19, when a gunman opened fire across multiple homes in the same neighbourhood. Around ten people were shot in total, including two adults who survived with serious injuries. Most of the victims were young children, some as young as one year old.
Police believe the shooting was domestic in nature, meaning the attacker likely knew or was connected to the victims. After the shootings, the suspect fled by carjacking a vehicle, which led to a police chase. The situation ended when officers shot and killed the suspect.
Officials have described it as one of the worst tragedies in the city’s history, both for the number of victims and the fact that so many were children.

ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE
Stories like this often leave people asking the same question: why would God allow something like this? When the loss is so heavy, especially involving children, it can feel impossible to make sense of it. The truth is, we won’t always understand why such terrible things happen. Scripture doesn’t promise clear answers to every tragedy, and it doesn’t try to explain away pain.
But not understanding why doesn’t mean God is absent or unjust. It can be tempting to judge God through the lens of suffering, yet the Bible consistently points us in a different direction, not away from Him, but toward Him. In moments like this, the response is not to push God away, but to draw closer, even with questions still unresolved. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18). In the face of what we cannot explain, that closeness is what remains.

UK Arson Attack Under Counter Terror Probe
UK counter terrorism police are investigating an arson attack linked to national security concerns after a fire was deliberately set at a property, prompting an immediate response from specialist units rather than local officers.
The involvement of counter terrorism authorities suggests officials believe there may be a broader motive beyond ordinary criminal activity. Early reports indicate the incident could be connected to rising geopolitical tensions, with investigators examining whether it was politically motivated or linked to foreign influence.
No major injuries have been reported, but the case has drawn significant attention due to its potential national security implications. Police say the investigation is ongoing as they work to identify those responsible and determine whether the attack is part of a wider threat.

OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS IS LIKE FILTHY RAGS
Events like this show how dangerous self righteousness can become. When people are convinced they are completely right, it can lead them to justify harm and dismiss others entirely.
Scripture challenges that mindset directly: “All our righteous acts are like filthy rags” (Isaiah 64:6). It’s a reminder that our own sense of rightness is flawed, and when we elevate it above others, it can lead to destructive outcomes. The call for believers is to walk in humility, not in the certainty that we alone are right.
