GOOD FRIDAY!
Today Jesus rose from the dead, making us all righteous, free from sin.

A WORD FROM OUR LORD:

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
— Isaiah 41:10

US–Iran Conflict Escalates

The conflict between the United States and Iran has intensified this week, with both sides continuing to carry out strikes across the Middle East and no clear resolution in place.

What began as targeted US and allied strikes on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure has developed into a broader and sustained exchange. Iran has responded with missiles and drones targeting US bases, Israel, and regional allies, while the US has continued operations against key military sites.

Fighting has extended across multiple areas in the region, raising concerns about further escalation. At the same time, indirect diplomatic efforts are ongoing through intermediaries, but no confirmed ceasefire agreement has been reached.

The conflict is also affecting global energy markets. Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil supply have raised concerns about potential disruptions, contributing to volatility in oil prices and broader economic uncertainty.

FEAR IS NOT FROM GOD
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7).

In times of conflict, chaos, and fear, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and we tend to focus on everything that feels uncertain and out of our control.

When the world feels unstable, fear often becomes the default response. And that’s okay because we’re only humans.

Fear should be a que to return back to Jesus. God loves it when we hand over our fears and anxiety to Him. We we’re never meant to carry our own burdens.

NATURAL DISASTER

Major Earthquake Strikes Indonesia

A powerful earthquake struck Indonesia this week, registering a magnitude of around 7.4 and triggering tsunami warnings across parts of the region.

The quake occurred off the coast, with tremors felt widely across nearby islands. Authorities initially issued tsunami alerts as a precaution, prompting evacuations in coastal areas, though warnings were later lifted after no major waves were detected.

Emergency services have been deployed to assess damage and assist affected communities. Early reports indicate structural damage in some areas, though the full extent of impact is still being evaluated.

Indonesia is located along the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” a region known for frequent earthquakes and volcanic activity, making seismic events relatively common, though large earthquakes can still pose significant risks.

ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE
In moments like this, when destruction and loss are so visible, it can be difficult to understand why things like this happen.

Natural disasters remind us how fragile life can be and how quickly things can change without warning.

But even in the midst of tragedy, we are reminded of something deeper.

God is still good.

His goodness is not dependent on circumstances, and it does not change when the world around us does.

Faith doesn’t mean having all the answers. It means trusting in who God is, even when we don’t understand what’s happening.

And when we hear stories like this, that trust becomes more important than ever.

NASA Prepares Artemis II Moon Mission

NASA is preparing for Artemis II, the first crewed mission to travel around the Moon in more than 50 years.

The mission will carry four astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft, launched by NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket. Unlike the previous Artemis I mission, which was uncrewed, Artemis II will send astronauts on a lunar flyby, testing systems needed for future missions.

The crew will travel around the Moon and return to Earth without landing, with the primary goal of evaluating spacecraft performance, life-support systems, and crew operations in deep space.

Artemis II is part of NASA’s broader Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the Moon later this decade and establish a long-term presence, with future missions planned to include lunar landings and eventually pave the way for missions to Mars.

CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE
As we look further into space, we’re reminded just how vast and massive the universe truly is, a scale so great we can’t even fully comprehend it.

Every star, every galaxy, every distant horizon… all created by God.

The same God who knows us by name. Who sees us in every moment, every second, every minute, every hour and never leaves our side.

In a universe this big, it would be easy to feel small, insignificant and forgotten.

But we are closer to the stars than we think because the God who created the stars is with us.

QUICK BITES

A bright spring moon made its annual appearance. April’s full “Pink Moon” was visible across much of the world on April 1, marking one of the most noticeable full moons of the season. Despite the name, the moon doesn’t actually turn pink, it’s named after early spring wildflowers that bloom this time of year in North America.

Airport lines are finally moving again. Major U.S. airports returned closer to normal operations this week, with security wait times dropping significantly after recent disruptions. Improvements came as staffing levels stabilized and back pay was issued to TSA workers, helping ease earlier delays.

The night sky put on a rare show. A surge in solar activity brought the northern lights into view across parts of the U.S. and Europe, with some regions seeing unusually vivid displays. These sightings are typically limited to higher latitudes, making this event a rare experience for many.

The job market is holding up stronger than expected. New U.S. data showed continued job growth, with employers adding more roles than forecast. Hiring has remained steady despite broader economic uncertainty, suggesting ongoing resilience in the labor market.

Tech companies are betting on what comes after smartphones. AI-powered smart glasses are gaining traction, with major firms investing in devices that allow users to access information, messages, and tools hands-free. The push reflects growing interest in wearable technology as the next phase of personal computing.
